New products combining nanotechnology are still appearing every day. Anti-wrinkle fabrics, deep penetrating cosmetics, liquid crystal display (LCD) and other facilities using nanotechnology are on the market.

You might be surprised to know how many products on the market have benefited from nanotechnology.

  • Sunscreen – Older sunscreen formulations use larger particles, making most sunscreens white when applied to the skin. When smaller particles are less likely to be detected, it means that when you rub sunscreen on your skin, it will not make your skin white.
  • Self-cleaning glass: using nanoparticles to create photocatalyst and decompose. The photocatalyst effect means that when ultraviolet radiation from light hits the glass, the nanoparticles become strong and begin to break and loosen the organic molecules on the glass (in other words, dirt). Hydrophilic means that when water comes into contact with glass, it will spread over the entire glass, helping to clean the glass.
  • Clothing: by coating a cloth with a thin layer of nanoparticles, manufacturers can create clothing that protects the body from UV rays. Some clothes have nanoparticles in the form of small hairs or whiskers that help push water and other objects, helping clothes to resist stains.
  • Scratch-resistant coatings – Engineers found that adding aluminum silicate nanoparticles to resist scratch-resistant polymer coatings made the paint more efficient, increased abrasion and scratch resistance. Scratch-resistant coating is popular on everything from cars to glasses.

In addition, there are some other areas such as antibacterial sanitary pads, plastic industry, paint industry, agricultural product preservation…
